Below are some photos i took with my friend from a photoshoot we had the other day! Hope you get inspired or just like the photos! Feel free to comment what you think or even if you want to know where certain items of clothing came from.
Would you say you're more of a winter person or a summer person. I know i'd say summer just because i love hot weather! Buutt, as i've been experiencing winter, i've found out that there are some benefits of winter that you can't find in summer.
To start, because it's so cold, everyone's wearing jackets, jumpers, coats, beanies, jeans and well...extra layers! The fact that everyone is rugging up more and wearing more clothes, means there is more of a variety of clothing.
In summer, there are lots of outfit choices such as shorts or skirts with t-shirts or singlet tops as well as dresses and playsuits. Buuttt, after a while you start to run out of ideas and you start wearing the same outfits over and over again.
In winter there are double the amount of options for outfits compared to summer. Now you can add jackets, jumpers, coats, cardigans (both long and short), jeans, long pants, sneakers, boots, beanies, scarves etc. That's the thing that i absolutely love about winter...there are so many more options for outfits and opportunities for looking stylish.
Even though winter provides a big opportunity for style and fashion and allows you to create your own styles and trends, there is still the pressure of fitting in and following what everyone else is doing.
If i were you, i would completely ignore what everyone is saying about what you have to wear and just be yourself. I know it's easier said than done, but if your constantly wearing what everyone else tells you to wear than you'll never have the chance to be yourself. Fashion allows you to express yourself and create a confidence in yourself that other things can't. Annndd on that note, i honestly couldn't think of a better season to start creating your own style than winter!
Have an amazing week!
Ever found yourself stuck when figuring out an outfit for the day? You've raided your whole wardrobe and still, you haven't found an outfit that is more than just a t-shirt and jeans/shorts. Don't worry you're not alone! I swear, that's happened to me so many times and the way i dealt with it is with these 5 surprisingly simple tips...
Always when figuring out an outfit i've found that your hairstyle is the one aspect that completes the whole look. Having your hair down or wearing it up can create an entirely different look. Sometimes, wearing your hair up in a bun or high pony tail can make you look taller, whereas if you wear your hair down you can create a more free and flow-like look. If you find that your outfit looks a bit basic, do something to your hair! The best thing about changing your hair is that there are so many different hair styles these days. Some styles that are quite trendy at the moment are styles such as two braids (both normal and dutch), high messy bun, and the most popular of all...the hair out with a bun on top!!
Having a cool hair style helps heaps when you want to turn what could be a plain outfit, into something more exciting and...well you!
Shoes are another great thing to consider when you want your outfit to be transformed from basic to brilliant! Shoes are absolutely essential when you are trying to create a certain look or 'theme'. Just say you were wearing a plain white tee with a black jacket over the top and blue denim jeans. You could add stylish shoes such as 'Stan Smiths' and automatically you have created a sporty look and the fact that you have cool shoes such as Stan Smiths completes your whole outfit. The type of shoe you choose, can change the entire mood of the outfit.
Accessories can create a major difference in your outfit, just by adding a bag or a scarf. If your outfit starts off not having much colour and looks a bit plain, add a nice bag with crazy patterns or a coloured belt and all of a sudden your look is completely changed!! Adding any kind of accessory can turn your outfit into any look you want it to be, just by adding one or two accessories.
4. Tuck and Roll
One of my favourite techniques when styling up an outfit is tucking and rolling. You must be thinking, what on earth is the 'tuck and roll'? Let me explain...just by tucking in a part of your shirt into your jeans or whatever you're wearing, completely changes the look of the outfit. You can either half tuck at the side or front, or you can full tuck which is when you tuck in all of your shirt or tee. Rolling has the same effect. By rolling up your jeans or rolling up the sleeves of your denim jacket or overthrow shirt, you are able to give your outfit a different look and sometimes even complete it. This method can also give your outfit a more relaxed and chilled look.
5. Colour Clashing
Colour clashing is another way to really make your outfit stand out and 'pop'. But what is colour clashing exactly? Just say i was wearing some black jeans and a grey short sleeved top. If i then wore a bright red jacket with stitched patterns over the top, my outfit would look totally different and look much cooler and exciting. You can colour clash with anything, whether its's bags, scarves, shoes, jackets or t-shirts!
The best thing about these 5 tips is that you can combine them together and create amazing, creative, totally 'you' outfits and looks!
I've also had a few questions about what blog platform i've been using. I'm using Weebly for my website and it is very safe and secure so i'd recommend that as the best. But...i've also heard of another platform called Wordpress which i have heard good feedback on and have looked at myself. Those two would be my first recommendations.
